Ne pouvant plus assurer ses missions correctement, l’association SOS Méditerranée a mis fin à ses sauvetages entre la Libye et l’Italie, fin 2018. Elle a rendu l’Aquarius à son armateur. L’ONG veut repartir en mer, demandant aux Européens de ne pas laisser des migrants se noyer.
